Warnervale and surrounding communities are privileged to have an army of volunteers who each day quietly go about their "jobs" and help others in the community. These Awards recognise local "stars" who work with local agencies to build a sense of community. Volunteers of any age who live or have worked in the Warnervale/Wadalba district for at least 12 months are eligible to be entered. Lake Haven Shopping Centre is the major sponsor of the Awards with eligible nominees receiving gift certificates courtesy of the Shopping Centre.
The Awards are a perfect opportunity for schools, clubs, organisations and services in the community to honour the efforts of their volunteers. Past nominees have said the experience is both humbling and overwhelming but also heart-warming to think that their contribution is acknowledged and appreciated.
Recipients will be announced at the Warnervale Annual Fair on Sunday 18th March 2012.
